Far North couple launch line of banana extract-infused skincare products

A FAR Northern farming couple has harnessed the healing powers of the lady finger banana to create a line of beauty products in a world first.

Rob and Krista Watkins of Natural Evolution launched the “evolve” skincare range two weeks ago and theirs is one of many local innovations that will be showcased at Tastes of the Tablelands on Sunday.

The Walkamin banana growers are the creators of banana flour, another world first made from green cavendish bananas.

They continue to challenge perceptions of the humble fruit, releasing a soap, misting spray and moisturiser infused with green lady finger banana extract, in partnership with Japanese company, Shinnihon Pharmaceuticals.
