Australian Banana Growers Council holds meeting to inform industry about Panama disease

BANANA growers across the Far North have swung into action to minimise the spread of Panama Tropical Race 4 amid fears the fungal disease could cripple the industry.

The Australian Banana Growers Association held crisis meetings in Mareeba yesterday, where growers were updated on the threat and urged to imple­ment containment practices.
